I finally updated Chapter 4 of Broken Promises and LJ is being difficult. I have these gaps between paragraphs that are annoying as hell. I'ma go to Dreamwidth right now and see if I can post it there then crosspost. I've never done either, but if that works, I will start doing that from now on. I just spent the past half-hour trying to fix the gaps, including messing with the html.

HTML editor or rich text editor? C/ping from Word or somewhere else?

I tried both. I'm c/p-ing from google docs, but I've never had problems before... Trying Dw right now. Let's see how it goes. :)

DW might be a bit more agreeable, but I use html editor and c/p in from a TextEdit (Win equivalent notepad/wordpad) file in .rtf or .txt format--I think it keeps my formatting and the journal format from conficting? IDK, a couple of times I've had to change the quotation marks for user references because LJ didn't recognize them, that's all.

Regardless: LIVEJOURNALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

Dw was much easier to manage once I made a new entry, but I don't know how much I liked the crossposting. XD I finally got LJ to behave somewhat though it took forever and a day. I need to learn to simply put html codes within the text already. So much easier that way.

Hon, I hate html coding but was fortunate enough to be recced to FF's doc loader. If you copy to a doc there, it has an html button and converts it all to html which you can then copy anywhere you need to. It's awesome and takes all the hassle out of it. Trust me, I've had the same issues and spent hours trying to post. FF html convert saved me! Let me know if you need help :)

If this helps any, those of us who read fic but don't write it really appreciate all the trouble you go to, especially when it involves dealing with nasty formatting gremlins.

Thank you!! I'll take a look at them now :). I don't have a paid account here but I've been saving icons on my desktop and changing them out. I keep using the same ones over and over again (or just my default) anyway though because I'm lazy.

yeah, it took me awhile to post my story (my first) the other night on then there's us. I couldn't get the lj cut to work properly (luckily Dev was online to help me).
I still haven't posted to my journal...
I'm happy to see you are still writing this story! I saw it on teaspoon but didn't start it since I wasn't sure if you were going to come back to it or not (you know WIPs and all...)

I'm totally determined to finish Broken Promises; it'll just take a little while... Hopefully once school's done this semester I'll be able to dedicate more time to reading/writing fic.
